BULGARIAN SARMI

I truly believe that my LDN boy could live solely on sarmi if I let him! Whenever I cook sarmi they are eaten in such a short time that I can barely finish my "Enjoy your meal". So here it is, my little crumbs the secret recipe to my Bulgarian sarmi :)
INGREDIENTS:
1 pc. sour cabbage
400g pork mince
1/3 cup rice
savory, mint, cumin, paprika, black pepper, salt, parsley, bay leaf
5 tablespoons oil
20g salted butter
PREPARATION:
Clean  and wash the leaves of the cabbage. Add a little water to the mince and spice it with all spices. Add the rice and mix it up very well. Then lay one leaf in a plate, put about a small fist of the mixture on one end of the leaf. Then start rolling the leaf towards the empty side( where there was no mixture) by tucking in the sides. After you have wrapped all sarmi put them in a clay pot. Pour water on top of them so that all sarmi are covered. Add a little salt, black pepper and the oil. Bake in moderate oven for 2 hours. Once the sarmi are ready. You melt the butter into a sauce pan with some paprika. You pour that on top of the sarmi and you are ready. The sarmi are served warm with either cream or yogurt, depends on your personal taste!

Always yours,
The Cookbook Fairy :P
